More on Facebook Pages' scheduling future posts

If you’re wondering why this is such a great feature, think about the facts released last month:

·      Facebook posts sent between 1:00pm and 4:00pm get the most traction
·      Links posted after 8:00pm and before 8:00am on Facebook don’t get the most clicks
·      Traffic starts to increase around 9:00am, but you’d be wise to wait to post until 11am
·      Traffic from Facebook fades after 4:00pm
·      Friday night should be avoided
·      Avoid the weekend if you have a post you want to go viral
·      Wednesday at 3:00pm is the best time to post on Facebook all week

Of course, individual circumstances will vary, but what if you aren’t near your computer at 3pm on Wednesday and you have a really important post that you want to get out?  Now you can create your post and schedule it to publish at the time that’s going to get the most attention.

Another useful thing about scheduling posts is the ability to use it to add something to your timeline that you forgot.  If you schedule for a date in the past, the post will appear immediately at the appropriate place on your Page’s timeline – and it doesn’t show that you posted it at a later date.

I’m not suggesting this could be used to cover yourself when you’ve forgotten to do something (“See, look at Facebook – I did send that post about the change of time of the meeting!”), but it could be useful for filling in gaps in your Timeline where it’s something you want your readers to know about you/your business/your blog.

  1. Also if you want to view, change or delete those scheduled posts, you need to go to the Admin Panel -> Edit Page -> Activity Log
